Intercultural competence

Publications

Intercultural competence is shaped by all dimensions of education, through different curricular areas and extracurricular activities. It is rarely formalized in a concrete subject of learning, much more often developed indirectly, by creating specific contexts, we, the teachers, and we are going to give the students practical patterns of behavior in this respect. Observing, imitating and replicating behaviors by students often have more value than discussions about the need to respect diversity. Through his own behavior, the teacher, convincingly or inconsistently, positively or negatively influences the formation of intercultural competence in students. In this context, each of us should ask, “To what extent have we developed intercultural competence? What behavioral patterns do my followers notice? “
